Maricopa Village Church

This church was originally built back in the 1950s on the Gila River Indian Community Reservation and has the unique distinction of having its property deeded to it by the United States Congress.

For many years there was a thriving church and school project.  Many retired workers today claim this church as one of the places where they have precious memories.  Then for a number of years the project was forgotten and held together by a few faithful Native members who prayed for a rebirth.

The North American Division’s Native Ministry program was instrumental in restarting the project with funds the church could never have generated on its own.  Through much vision and sacrifice, a school was restarted and is the church’s primary source of baptismal growth.
